19th Century Chinese jade of covered urn. Expertly carved in slightly flattened baluster shape, with tall central body, raised on splayed foot, wide prominent neck with domed lid and faceted finial. The exterior body decorated with intricately archaistic dragons formed symmetrical geometric pattern simulating the Taotie mask of the seeing eyes. Two archaistic dragon surmounted on neck creates handles. Well balanced with finely polished plain neck and foot base. Nephrite jade displays pale-creme in color, and moist milky appearance. Fitted unto a red silk covered hard cushion, with pale-blue metallic ribbon pedestal. All sets within the original slide-lidded hardwood box.
