18th C Chinese Qing Dynasty Porcelain plate, finely potted shallow vessel, with wide broad cavetto to the rounded wall and flat wide opening rim, raised on a footed ring base. The broad central interior decorated in An Hua or "hidden decoration" un-colored and only seen under a clear glaze or through transmitted light. The decoration produced by carving on the porcelain before glazing and firing in shallow relief of gourd abundant and its foliage. The exterior reserve in brownish-red glazed ground, while the concaved central base left plain white underglazed.
Mark on base, six blue seal script -ZhuanShu- characters, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.
