Description: A massive Japanese blue and white porcelain "koi" charger
Meiji period, late 19th century
Painted in vibrant tones of cobalt-blue with a large fish swimming admist water weeds, reserves of landscapes of pavilions and plum trees, underside inscribed "meiji nensei", bearing a paper label inscribed in Japanese "11 year, no. 178, kito", with an iron plate hanger.
