Description: Three Japanese stoneware jars, Tsubo
circa 16th to 18th centuries
Comprising: a jar, possibly Tokoname, early Edo period, with a high-shouldered body suppporting a waisted neck and chipped lipped rim, potter's mark incised to shoulder; a similar jar, possibly Bizen or Tokoname, with a bulbous body; an ovoid jar with short neck, all of a rich red-brown body and areas of olive or olive-brown-toned ash glaze.
