A MING DYNASTY LONGQUAN CéLADON-GLAZED MOULDED BOWL 15th century
10,5 x 17 cm Decorated with moulded floral and geometric designs, the centre of the interior with a good omen character, all raised on a tall narrow foot rim, covered with an olive-green glaze.
Provenance: Acquired before 1975.
This kind of bowl was made in various sizes. The Topkapi Saray Museum in Istanbul has numerous similar examples (see R. Krahl - J. Ayers, Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum, 3 voll., London 1986, I, pp. 363-368); another similar bowl is in the Baur Foundation, Geneve (M.
