A LATE MING DYNASTY WHITE-GLAZED MOULDED ROUND BOX AND COVER
2,7 x 6 cm The sides of both the container and the cover moulded with vertical ribes, the top of the cover decorated with a floral composition in relief.
Provenance: Acquired before 1975. A similar box is in the Sir Michael Butler collection, found among the thousand porcelains of the Hatcher Wreck, a Chinese junk wrecked in the sea port of Jakarta around 1640 (see M. Butler, Late Ming. Chinese Porcelain from the Butler Collection, Luxembourg 2008, p. 105).
