A bronze incense burner comprising a handle with round-section shank, ram-head finial and ribbed shank, joined to the bowl with three splayed arms; squat bronze bowl with domed underside; tiered lid with three spear-shaped vents, three radiating ibex figures with heads to the rear, bird to the upper face; hinge formed as an ibex with legs extended, head facing to the rear. 653 grams, 55cm (21 1/2"). Property of a North London lady; gifted from her father's collection; formerly with a Mayfair gallery, London, UK; previously acquired in the 1980s. Fine condition, some cracking to lid.
