RARE Chinese Ru ware plate. Shallow basin circumscribed with a curvaceous flori-form spiral outward the rim, creates six curvature petals interlocking toward the circumferences surrounding the broad wide circular cavetto. All reserved in pale-celadon under glazed with densely dusted golden-brown speckles. The characterizing glaze shows a distinctive pale duck-egg blue glaze, like the blue of the sky in a clearing amongst the clouds after rain. The under base left unglazed, revealed the pale-creme, orange-brown smooth ground. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant finish that was applied by a meticulous glaze craftsman.
