Chinese Qing Dynasty Guangxu blue and white dragon small reward vase. It has a thick body, a sturdy rotund vase with rounded shoulders converging into a tall straight neck, smooth narrowed mouth, with a slightly concaved foot base. The main body decorated with hand painting in underglazed blue of five-claws snarling imperial dragons careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-Shui waves. Banded with fine lines on the rim and foot. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor, represent longevity, wealth, abundance and fecundity. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze.
The under base bear a reign mark, a vertical six under-glazed blue script characters, Made in The Years of Guangxu Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.Measurements: Height: 12 3/8" Diameter: 7 1/4"
