Chinese Qing Dynasty porcelain water pot. Potted in an ovoid bulbous body, rounded shoulder gently elevated short neck toward the wide opening. The exterior decorated with Doucai design hand painted in a soft color harmoniously depicted lotus blooms against the clean white underglaze ground. The composition is sophisticated and the colors are a feast for the eye. underglazed blue key frets patterned ribbon band on the upper rim. Doucai means soft colors which fit together which is evident in this harmoniously painted bowl. The artistry is a combination of underglazed blue outlines and enamels added on top of the fired glaze, within the outlines.
The under-base bears a reign mark, a vertical six underglazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed by double rectangular frames, Made in The Years of Yongzheng Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
