Meiji era
Comprised of a tobacco container fashioned as a mokugyo (wooden
monastery bell) carved and incised with a handle of confronted
dragons (surface wear); the pipe case (kiseru) of senryu-zutsu type,
realistically carved as a worm-eaten branch with an inlaid ladybug
near the top, the interior bearing the signature Kaigyokudo (minor
crack); fitted with a small coral-colored bead ojime.
