Day 1: The focus of session 1 is on several important private collections, including jade carvings from the estate of Mr. Ng of San Francisco and from the collection of Ashkenazie & Co; Imperial Chinese porcelain from the Slade family collection of Chinese ceramics and jade; cloisonné from the private collection of Mr. Paulson, a former New York City based antique dealer. Also featured are Chinese porcelain dishes, bowls, plaques, and figurines; scholar’s items; Buddhist art; bronze Buddhas, figurines, censers, and vases from China, Japan and Nepal; jade, agate, turquoise, coral, soapstone, Qiyang stone, and other carvings; Peking Glass; jewelry; ruyi; snuff bottles; cloisonné; cinnabar; huanghuali, bamboo, rosewood, and zitan furniture and carvings; and textiles such as Kesi panels, ranking badges, silk robes, embroideries, wool rugs, Thangkas, and Imperial edicts.
