My name is Marco Lanzi and my passion is the antique.
My family passed this passion on me: they started this activity during the 60s, while I started mine in the early 90s.
My specialty are the paintings made by the end of the 17th century and the first half of the 19th century. I also have a passion for French clocks, like the neoclassical and those from the First Empire, in particular the porcelain ones from Sèvres.
The clock behind me is a beautiful Louis XVI, made by Edme-Philibert Guydamour, an important French clockmaker which was nominated "King's clockmaker" in 1784.
The whole structure is made of white marble with some parts made of mercury gilt ormolu.
Speaking of paintings I would like to focus on this work, which shows the meeting of St. Francis and St. Dominic. It was painted by the brothers Gregorio and Mattia Preti.
Professor Claudio Strinati, one of the greatest experts of the 17th century in Italy, certifies that the painting was made by Gregorio but especially by Mattia Preti, one of the most important Italian painters of the 17th century.
I had the luck to meet personalities from the Italian and the international cinema, and to work with them. This St. Francis was in the scenery of the Papal office in the TV series "The Young Pope", directed by the Academy Award winner Paolo Sorrentino.
