A Shiwan ceramic figure of Budai dating to the 18th century or possibly earlier. The statuette is hollow inside, and the figure of Budai is shown reclining with his left arm resting on a pillow and his right hand on his knee. He is clothed in a blue glazed robe and his skin texture is bare clay. Dimensions are 4 1/2 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Some cracking of the glaze in the back. Provenance: From a Toronto, Canada collector who collected all of the items in Hong Kong prior to the 1970s.
