A Shiwan ceramic statue of a guardian lion dating from the 18th century or possibly earlier. The eyes, teeth, claws, and 2 spots on the tail are glazed, the rest of the body is bare ceramic with textured fur. The lion has a long mane and a bisected tail. Dimensions are: 4 1/4 inches tall X 7 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It is in overall good condition with a small chip in the back in the bottom.
