An ink on paper calligraphy couplet by Yu Youren (1879-1964) given to Xingru and Qinmeng. Both are mounted on a silk backing with wooden dowels. The calligraphy has a signature and 1 seal. Dimensions are: each measures 56 1/4 inches tall X 14 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Minor creasing and one tear, but otherwise good condition. Provenance: From the estate of a Silver Spring, Maryland woman whose father was Yu Jishi, a top Nationalist general and a close confidant of Chiang Kai-shek.
