An ink on paper calligraphy couplet by Chen Erxi (1878-?) given to Xingru. Each scroll of the couplet has 7 characters. Both have silk backings and the second scroll has 2 seals. Dimensions are: 67 inches tall X 17 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Both have some minor creasing, staining, and small tears. Provenance: From the estate of a Silver Spring, Maryland woman whose father was Yu Jishi, a top Nationalist general and a close confidant of Chiang Kai-shek.
