An ink on paper calligraphy couplet by Yu Youren (1879-1964) given to Xingru and Qinmeng. Each is mounted on a silk backing with wooden dowels. The couplet has a signature and 1 seal. Dimensions are: each measures 52 inches tall X 13 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The piece has some water staining and would benefit from a new backing. Provenance: From the estate of a Silver Spring, Maryland woman whose father was Yu Jishi, a top Nationalist general and a close confidant of Chiang Kai-shek.
