A pair of calligraphy couplets with 7 characters by Wu Zhihui (1865-1953) given to Xingru. The pair have 2 seals and are mounted on a silk backing. Dimensions are 53 1/2 inches tall X 13 3/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It has 2 small tears and some creasing but otherwise good condition. Provenance: From the estate of a Silver Spring, Maryland woman whose father was Yu Jishi, a top Nationalist general and a close confidant of Chiang Kai-shek.
