The coffee pot and internal filter of rectangular lobed form, with leaf shaped lid finial, acanthus decorated spout and c-scroll ivory handle. Raised upon a square section canted stand with oil burner underneath, on four s-scrolled supports with ivory ball feet.

Elise Henri de Haas was the son of Jean Antoine de Haas (also a silversmith) and husband of Grietje Smith. After the death of Elise Henri de Haas, his widow and her father-in-law Jean Antoine de Haas (1817-unknown) and Daniel Jan de Haas (1821-1886) continued the business. Daniel Jan de Haas continued the business from 1854 to 1876.
