The teapot of pear shape with eight sides, the hinged lid with ball finial and acanthus c-scroll handle. Raised upon four scrolled supports. The cream jug of matching decoration with wide pouring spout.
Height of teapot: 15.5cm. Content: 835/1000. Total weight: 582 grams.

The Van Kempen & Begeer Company was founded by Johannes Mattheus van Kempen (born in 1764 in Utrecht). Johannes Mattheus van Kempen was admitted to the guild in 1789 as a master. The new silver factory was opened in June 1858 and received the predicate “Royal”. After the death of JM van Kempen III in 1877, his youngest son, JM van Kempen IV became the leader of the company and the business grew into an industrial company.
