A Japanese bronze vase
Meiji period (1868-1912)
The foliate lobed vase is decorated with two ho-o-shaped handles, the body is decorated with panels enclosing birds and flowers alternating with floral scroll panels, the neck is decorated with confronting ho-o, all standing on four scroll legs emanating from floral shishi heads on a quatrefoil base with further flower scroll panels.
