Meiji period (1868-1912)
Finely decorated with enamels and raised gilt to one side with a panel enclosing a lady, a gentleman, and a boy at leisure, and to the other side with karako (boys) at play in a curtained interior with precious objects, all below kiku-head and floral panels at the neck and lappets to the foot.
23.5 cm. (9 ? in.) high
Condition:
Tiny chips and a very fine short hairline to the foot.
Light wear to the enamels and gilding.
