月牙桌，又稱半月桌，亦即半圓桌，早錄於成書明代的中國古建築、家具木工大全《魯班經》，按述為起居常用，惟甚少傳世，故今例無幾。王世襄著《Connoisseurship of Chinese Furniture: Ming and Early Qing Dynasties》載有一具，附兩幅實測圖，見卷二，頁118，編號B125–B127。 月牙、半月、半圓，顧名思義為圓月、圓形分半，多為成對製造，拼合成雙。然細觀本桌之三彎腿、馬蹄足、足端卷草紋、背面線腳，可推斷為單獨製作，而非複桌之一。同類者如古籍内之木刻版畫插圖所示（圖一），臨窗倚牆，單置獨立。本桌選嵌綠色大理石面，為其一大特色。石製桌面易於清潔，防潮耐熱，能抵香爐高溫，不滲酒漬茶漬，無懼室外風化損傷，實用程度尤勝木面。牙子鎪壺門式輪廓，清麗典雅，可與一具十七世紀黃花梨嵌綠雲石酒桌之罕見造型比對，2024年3月22日經紐約佳士得拍賣，拍品編號1119。 經刊錄諸例多設壺門卷口，如Robert及 William Drummond藏，艾克（G. Ecke）著《Domestic Chinese Furniture》，魯特蘭、東京，1962年，頁72，圖55，以及伍嘉恩著《侶明室家具圖集》，2000年，頁112，圖版22。另可參考一具極為罕見之黃花梨帶羅鍋棖月牙桌，見弗拉克斯（M. Flacks）著《Classical Chinese Furniture: a very personal point of view》，倫敦，2011年，頁248–251，現藏於明尼阿波利斯藝術博物館。鄧氏伉儷藏舊藏一具清十七至十八世紀黃花梨月牙桌，巧雕龍形角牙，2023年5月30日經香港佳士得「明窗淨几–鄧氏伉儷藏中國古典家具」專場拍賣，拍品編號2709。
