A deep Wanli cobalt blue has been used to decorate this very old porcelain bowl.A round porcelain hand thrown bowl that has been hand painted with a nice deep cobalt blue design of peony medallions. There is a matched fret work band inside and out at the rim. The inner well has a matching peony medallion. There are cobalt rings above the foot. The foot is raised and has an unglazed foot ring. The base is glazed. The surface of the bowl is so soft, has a very worn feeling a worn soft sheen. The cobalt used is dark and a rich shade of blue with some cobalt explosions. There is a factory mark in Zhuanshu script painted in cobalt blue on the base.MEASUREMENTS 4 ??a€ diameter x 2 3/8a€ tall. Weighs 5.6 oz (160 g)CONDITIONThere are no cracks, chips, or breaks. The bowl rings like a bell. There is a painting error on one of the medallions. There is wear to the bowl but it still looks very good for the age.A great bowl that adds age, substance and richness to your d??cor. I just love the deep Wanli cobalt blue.Item ID: Por-1918
