An early 20th century Chinese porcelain vase with extensive hand painting of lotus blossoms and foliate scrolling in over glaze copper red on a fine crackle oatmeal colored glaze. Along the shoulder is a border of ruyi lappets, and a border of lappets around the base. The copper red painting is striking against the crackle oatmeal-colored ground.The slightly everted mouth rim is glazed with iron red. The heavy round porcelain vase is hand potted. You can see the pottera€?s wheel rings on the clay above the foot. The cut foot ring is unglazed but the base is glazed. The foot ring is soft and worn from years of use.There is the remnant of CHINA in red glaze on the base. There is also a paper label on the base that says a€?MADE IN CHINAa€ with the numbers a€?12800 8 ??a€.MEASUREMENTS 8 ??a€ (21.6 cm) tall x 8a€ (20.3 cm) diameter. Weighs 3 lb 10.2 oz (1.65 kg)CONDITION There are no cracks, chips, or breaks. The vase has been drilled in the base for a lamp. There are a few kiln flaws such as; pimples, bumps, and small smudges.A visually arresting large old Chinese vase with a well painted design.
