The base is not glazed and you can see the fine pottera€?s wheel marks. There is no foot ring and the base is flat. The glaze is thick, smooth, bluish, unctuous and worn feeling. It has a shiny appearance. A dark smoky underglaze cobalt has been used to decorate the ink well. The painting is quick and rudimentary; it looks almost like modern abstract. Weighs 9.3 oz (265 g)CONDITION There is a chip on the top bead edge and a chip on the base. There is wear to the bead points and to the mouth opening.
