Large Chinese soft gray metal alloy dish with exacting designs of Buddhist symbols, plum blossoms, lotus and applied grape vines supporting bright red carnelian and green jade jewels. The stamped designs are detailed, deep and exacting.A thick, heavy soft metal charger is shallow, a slight raised foot and a foliate rim. The gray metal, which I believe is pewter, has a slight shine. There are applied grape branches at the chargera€?s top. The branches have grapes that are inset with semi-precious carnelian agate and green jade stones. Most of the carnelians have some dark and light inclusions. The round center stone has few inclusions and is particularly bright. All the jades but one are primarily very light green - almost white a€“ with a little darker green mottling. In one of those the green is almost an apple green. The remaining jade (to the far right) has is more of a 50-50 green to white ratio. The central medallion has an incised design of lotus and water plants with insects flying above. The stamped work is very precise. The word CHINA has been etched on the base of the dish.MEASUREMENTS 10 ??a€ (26.0 cm) diameter x 2 1/8a€ (5.4 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lb 4.2 oz (1.025 kg)CONDITION There are no breaks, chips, dents or cracks. There are wear scratches and discolorations on the interior of the charger. A couple of the jewels have small scratches but they all are polished and shine. The workmanship is so precise and experienced. There was so much hand work involved. The jewels are bright colorful and catch the eye.Item ID: V-1781
