A fire and ice celadon glaze on this imaginatively swirl potted small bowl. The swirl has allowed the glaze to pool. I love the jade blue highlights in the glaze when held to the light.A ceramic low round bowl with an unglazed foot and base. The foot has been cut and has a sharpness in contrast with the recessed base. The clay is a reddish color. You can see the pottera€?s wheel marks in the clay. The glaze covering the rest of the bowl is thin, smooth and has a fine crackle. The color is an olive color which becomes jade blue where the glaze has pooled. The potter was very clever in making a swirl pattern to let the glaze pool in bands. The base has what looks like a character in a black color, although I cana€?t make it out.MEASUREMENTS 3 ??a€ (9.5 cm) diameter x 2 ??a€ (6.4 cm) tall. Weighs 6.6 oz (185 g)CONDITION The glaze has flaked on the rim edge. There are no chips, cracks or breaks. An ancient bowl with an early celadon glaze. A great addition to a collection or just to be held in the hand and meditate on the distant past.___________________Item ID: Pot-1726
