Delicately painted and potted set of three plates that will be a visual treat in your home. Although each one is hand-painted with intricate and fine painting, each of the plate are so amazingly alike.Three medium sized porcelain plates that have lobed edges. The designs around the edge are of alternating fabric panels painted in reds, green, and gray. Black was used to outline and accent. The central medallion is of a stylized beast using under glaze cobalt. The underside of each plate has design of bats, clouds, and books. The cobalt has been over painted with gilding making a pleasing contrast of gold on dark blue. The rim edges have also been gilded, although much of that is worn on all the plates.The plates have a nice weight to them. The glaze is thick, smooth and looks shiny. The foot ring is cut and not glazed while the base is. On one plate in this set there is a tiny rim chip is set. On the second plate therea€?s some enamel missing (probably a kiln flaw) from one of the red panels (see photo), and on the third therea€?s some enamel worn on one of the red and green panels. You hardly notice these flaws because the plate designs are very intricate. The plates show very well.The set creates a very pleasing, eye catching arrangement that will give your d??cor interest and richness.
