Finely tooled and hand worked Chinese silver pendant with the interesting shape of a cow. The cow even has tiny ears and horns. The pendant was made from two thin sheets of silver cut into the shape of a cow, and then. These back soldered together. This shape was refined with hand tooling to add fur. Ears and horns were added to further refine the cow shape. The joining of the two halves only shows on the belly. They have worked the figure until it is almost seamless. A chain was added to hang it, as was a hanging carnelian agate bead off the underside. The bead shows inclusions and minute wear scratches. It has a colorful reddish cast. The silver has polished up nicely, although it could be polished even more.MEASUREMENTS Pendant is 2 ??a€ (5.7 cm) wide x 1 3/8a€ (3.5 cm) tall x 9/16a€ (1.4 cm) thick Entire piece is 4 ??a€ (11.4 cm) tall Carnelian bead is 13 mm diameter Weighs .9 oz (25 g)CONDITION I dona€?t see any dents, breaks, or cracks.A shiny interesting shaped piece of antique Chinese jewelry.
