Incredibly detailed, artistically arranged and painted rectangular framed Chinese cork picture. The central well shows off a detailed three-dimensional scene of islands and a pagoda on the shore. A man in a boat poles in the foreground. The cork has been cut and arranged in the most microscopic way. Unbelievably thin and delicate trees, pagoda columns, roof ornaments, and evenly-cut Chinese characters at the top of the picture. The background is painted with blue watercolors that compliments the color of the mat. The mat appears to be an open weave silk brocade with the happiness symbol woven in and then attached to a raised backing. The picture frame is an old silver and blue watermark painted wood. The back has paper backing with masking tape and a nail at the top center. There is the number #69 written on the back otherwise no other mark or label.MEASUREMENTS 13 7/8a€ (34.2 cm) wide x 9 7/8a€ (25.1 cm) tall x 13/16a€ (2.1 cm) thick. Weight 1 lb 6.8oz (645 g)CONDITION The paper backing is torn and could be redone by a professional and reframed. The matting also shows some small crumbs from cork and so if you have it reframed, you could also have the glass cleaned on the inside and the matting cleaned. The colors of the picture have probably mellowed with age and light.Such a detailed work of the Chinese artist. A window into a highly detailed and practiced art.Item ID: V-718
