The detail is amazing.The round thinly potted Japanese porcelain bowl has been painted first with under glaze blue and then fired again with rich and colorful over glaze enamels. The designs on exterior of the bowl alternate between a crane surrounded by a golden frame, and a branch of a tree surrounded by an opulent red brocade. The base of the bowl and the outside of the tall foot ring are decorated with a repeating key fret design painted in a nice smoky cobalt blue under glaze.There is a Japanese square mark in under glaze blue on the glazed base.MEASUREMENTS 4 ??a€ (12.1 cm) diameter x 2 ??a€ (6.4 cm) tall. Weighs 8.2 oz (230 g)CONDITIONThere are no cracks, breaks, or chips. The bowl rings true. The enamels are fresh and bright with some gilding wear on the mouth rim. There are dimples and black spots in the glaze in the central bowl well.
