Colorful, detailed, intricate hand painted plates by Wedgewood of England. The plates remind me of Chinese designs from the 18th century.Thinly potted delicate porcelain plates with intricate and detailed designs of pheasants and birds in trees with flowers in a myriad of colors. There are butterflies flying about. The central medallion is of a twisted, contorted bush. The off-white base glaze is smooth, soft and looks shiny. The rim edge is turquoise. There is an applied mark with an urn and the words WEDGEWOOD ENGLAND on the base. The mark is that used by Wedgewood between 1900 and 1908. There are also hand painted numbers in red on the bases. The numbers are hard to read but appear to be a€?283a€MEASUREMENTS 8 ??a€ (22.2 cm) diameter x ??a€ (1.9 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 9.8 oz (730 g)CONDITION There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. The plates ring like a bell. There is very little wear to the enamels and the ground has very few scratches from wear. The foot ring does show wear.A great, colorful set of plates that will add a note of distinction to your home d??cor. Wedgewood quality for your home.___________________Item ID: Por-1290
