Old flinty blue glass serving dish with a design of cranes an insect and a bleeding heart plant in the center. The molded plate has faux handles with a raised foot ring and a channel around the central medallion. The glass has a myriad of molded designs. The central medallion has a pattern of cranes in a field hunting an insect. There is a romantic bleeding heart plant in the center. There is a diamond pattern on the lip edge. There is a key fret pattern below the rim. Circling the central medallion is another diamond pattern ring. The blue glass dish has a nice light blue transparency, and bubbles, waves and lines imperfection that are characteristic of old glass.I could find no manufacturer marks or labels.MEASUREMENTS 9 ??a€ (24.8 cm) wide x 9a€ (22.9 cm) diameter. 1 3/8a€ (3.5 cm) tall. Weight 1 lb. 8.8 oz. (705 g)CONDITION The plate has tiny frits on the plate edge that are so small that they are felt better than seen under the naked eye. Old flinty glass is more brittle and chips more readily than modern glass. The plate has some tiny scratch wears but they arena€?t readily visible. The worn raised foot shows the wear of years of use.A lovely shade of blue that would be brilliant in a window. I love the romantic sentiment of the Victorians with the bleeding heart plant.Item ID: G-1208
