Elaborate, sinuous, deep repousse Art Nouveau design that has been silver plated giving it a rich shiny look.The butter dish has a round domed lid with a repousse design of morning glories and vines which fits snuggly into the flange of the round base. The lid has an elaborate grooved pull. Both sides of the base have looped handles. The base sits on a slight raised oval base with a repousse of a repeating floral vine. The interior holds a round molded glass butter dish with ray pattern and a hole in the middle. The glass has bubbles and wear on the base edge. There are two pairs of prongs at the front of the base to hold the butter knife. The butter dish has shined up well and doesna€?t need re-silvering.There are marks on the base. In a circle around an eagle head are the words: FORBES SILVER CO. Below this design is the word QUADRUPLE and the number 210. The butter knife has the word a€?Rogersa€, a ship anchor and the letters AA stamped on it.MEASUREMENTS 8a€ (20.3 cm) wide x 6a€ (15.2 cm) diameter x 6 ??a€ (16.5 cm) tall. The glass dish has a chip under the hole in the center. There are small silver losses which are mainly under the base. The dish looks shiny and bright.A shining example of Art Nouveau.
