It has a nice contrast with the white and dark blue.The high fired porcelain square-shaped tea caddy has been glazed with a shiny off white blue tinted glaze which has been decorated with a contrasting deep blue cobalt. The scrolling design and shou character have been molded into it. The deep blue glaze shows bleeding and has spread outside of its design channels. The glaze feels smooth and glistens. Bats have been painted on the top of the vase and are well defined. The mouth and base are unglazed. There are two small chips on outside side edges, and some small kiln flaws such as a dark color on a couple of corners and small pinhole glaze misses.
