Typical, very precisely made, yixing ceramic. The vessel itself appears as it were a piece from a bamboo culm, as does the high-arched handle as well as the curved spout. On the curved lid is another arched handle, of which bamboo leaves sprout off. On the bottom is the three-character mark Longhuang. Yixing is the place of production, located in Jiangsu province, and is one of the oldest centers of ceramic production. On the underside of the lid is a small seal from the potter.
