A very poetic depiction of the famous scene in which Vishnu emerges, incarnated as a lion, from a pillar and kills the demon Hiranyakashipu, who is lying beneath his legs. Vishnu’s lion head bears a golden crown. To his side, a female and a male figure accompany him, most likely Sridevi and the son of the demon, Prahlada. The border is composed of blossoms, birds and extensive gilding, as is the entire right side.
