H :2cm W :22cm This Sasanian Dynasty Copper Plate with Relief "Animal Tamer" Pattern is a fine metalware piece of the ancient Persian Sasanian period. Shaped with an open mouth and shallow belly, it has a heavy copper body (with natural patina and corrosion traces, typical of Sasanian copperware material). The plate center features a relief "animal tamer" theme (the central figure wears Sasanian noble attire, flanked by auspicious beasts, belonging to the "master of animals" motif, a typical Sasanian art theme). The pattern layout is symmetrical and neat, with distinct relief layers (exquisite repoussé craftsmanship, vivid and powerful lines), and the plate rim is decorated with interlocking branch patterns (typical of Persian traditional decorative style), fully demonstrating the Sasanian metalware feature of "mysterious theme and vigorous craftsmanship". Complete surviving Sasanian copper relief plates are rare; this piece is in excellent condition and is a representative object of Silk Road cultural exchange. It embodies the standard of Sasanian Dynasty metal repoussé craftsmanship, and is an important object for studying ancient Persian art and Silk Road civilization exchange, with extremely high historical, artistic and collection value.
