拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Each coin measures 2.3 cm (0.91 inches) in diameter and weighs 27 grams. This is a set of official small-denomination silver coins from the Central Mint of the Republic of China during the 1920s. Condition and Provenance: This set of five 1929 Sun Yat-sen 20-cent silver coins comes from the same original collection and contains no counterfeits or later reproductions. Each coin is made of high-purity silver with a naturally formed patina and smooth color transitions, untouched by acid washing, chemical cleaning, or artificial aging. The obverse features a sharp and clear portrait of Sun Yat-sen, with distinct facial features and collar details. The reverse depicts a wreath of abundant grains and leaves, along with clearly legible inscriptions "20 cents" and "Five Coins in One Silver Dollar." The coins show even wear from circulation, with no obvious stamping marks, large scratches, deformation, or bending. The edges are intact, without missing teeth, curled edges, or repair marks, and the surface is flat without any corrosion pits. This set of coins was initially consigned for auction by a professional coin gallery in New York and entered the collection of a private collector in Virginia, USA, in 2024. This collector specializes in modern Chinese machine-made coins. New York, California, and Toronto are major global trading centers for Republic of China era silver coins. Description: This complete set contains five identical 1929 Sun Yat-sen 20-cent silver coins, which were official standard small-denomination currency issued by the central government of the Republic of China. Such complete sets are extremely rare on the market and are therefore highly sought after by American coin collectors specializing in Chinese historical coins. The obverse of the coin features a finely crafted portrait of Sun Yat-sen in formal attire, surrounded by the inscription "Republic of China Year 18". The engraving on the obverse is exquisite, lifelike, with smooth lines and a strong three-dimensional effect. The reverse features a full grain pattern surrounding the denomination "20 cents", and is surrounded by the exchange statement "Five silver coins equal one silver dollar". Each silver coin was minted using the standard industrial coin-pressing machines of the time. The strong stamping force created a clear boundary between the relief design and the flat surface, and its silver alloy composition fully complied with the official minting standards of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of China. This 20-cent silver coin circulated widely in daily small transactions during the Golden Decade of the Republic of China and is important physical evidence of the currency unification reform led by the Nanjing Nationalist Government. This set of silver coins has multi-layered research value, covering monetary history, early modern metal engraving techniques, and the economic development of the Republic of China. All five coins retain their complete circulation patina, without any artificial cleaning or repair. The portraits, wreaths, lettering, and edges are all in balanced condition, without a single flaw, and the overall quality remains undiminished. A complete set of coins is superior to loose coins in terms of display effect and long-term value preservation, and has the potential for continued appreciation at international overseas coin auctions.
