拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Each coin measures 2.4 cm (0.94 inches) in diameter and weighs 28 grams. This set comprises ten silver coins from the Republic of China period (late 19th to mid-20th century). Condition and Provenance: These ten coins come from the same original collection batch and are free of defects or later forgeries. Each coin is made of high-density pure silver with a naturally accumulated patina over decades, exhibiting a soft, layered appearance. They have not undergone artificial aging treatments such as acid washing, silvering, or re-plating. The relief portrait, calligraphy, stars, and reverse inscription are clear, sharp, and well-defined. Circulation wear is uniform, with no obvious marks, deep scratches, deformation, or bending. The edges are neat and free of missing teeth or signs of repair, and the flat surfaces are free of corrosive pits or wear. This collection includes five distinctive subsidiary coins: a Guizhou "coin"-shaped small silver coin, a 20-cent silver coin from the Chinese Soviet Republic, a 20-yuan silver coin from Fujian Province, a 1949 old silver coin by Sun Yat-sen, and a Guangxu one-weight four-gold-dragon silver coin, paired with five 1929 Sun Yat-sen one-yuan coins, with no duplicates. This set originally circulated in the San Francisco Numismatic Collection and entered a private modern machine-struck coin collection in Nevada, USA in 2025. California, New York, and Toronto are major trading centers for machine-struck Chinese silver coins from the late Qing and Republican periods globally. Description: This curated collection brings together ten different versions of machine-struck silver coins, covering the Qing and Republican periods, including Qing dragon-shaped subsidiary coins, local warlord coins, silver coins from the Chinese Soviet Revolution period, and Sun Yat-sen one-yuan coins issued by the central government during the Republican era. Due to its diverse types and rich historical themes, this complete set is extremely rare in the North American antiquarian coin market and is highly sought after by American collectors specializing in Chinese coins. These five unique coins include: a 1949 silver coin with a Sun Yat-sen sailboat design, featuring a left-side portrait of Sun Yat-sen on the obverse and a sailboat surrounded by ears of wheat on the reverse; a Guizhou Province silver coin with the character "乾" (Qian) in seal script at the center, surrounded by geometric repeating patterns, a rare regional currency from the Republic of China period; a 1931 Fujian Province 20-yuan silver coin with the national emblem of "blue sky and white sun" on the obverse, clearly marked with the provincial mint and denomination, minted by local authorities during the Republic of China period; a 1933 Chinese Soviet Republic 20-fen silver coin with double five-pointed stars and the simplified year on the obverse, a rare revolutionary period currency in China's red history; and a late Qing Dynasty Guangxu Yuanbao coin with four gold coins, an officially minted dragon-patterned silver coin from the late Qing Dynasty, inscribed with Manchu and Chinese denomination characters, a standard officially machine-minted silver coin from the late Qing Dynasty's industrial reform period. Another set comprises five 1929 Sun Yat-sen one-yuan coins. These silver coins feature lifelike three-dimensional portrait engravings and standardized official calligraphy, representing the main circulating silver dollars during the Republic of China period. Each coin was minted under sufficient pressure using modern industrial coin-pressing machines, resulting in clear three-dimensional relief details. The silver alloy composition strictly conforms to the official minting standards of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, possessing triple historical research value, encompassing the monetary reforms under the Westernization movement at the end of the Qing Dynasty, the independent local minting during the warlord era of the Republic of China, and the financial system during the early Red Revolution. All ten coins exhibit genuine signs of circulation wear, consistent with historical daily use, retaining a completely original natural patina without any artificial repair, re-engraving, or alteration. The serrations, flatness, inscriptions, and portrait reliefs are all well-preserved. This set of silver coins visually and comprehensively showcases the evolution of modern Chinese currency from the 1890s to 1949, serving as both a physical example of machine-minted silver coin technology and an irreplaceable primary document for studying modern political history, revolutionary movements, and local Chinese folk culture. This complete set of multiple versions of silver coins from a private collection in the United States has extremely high long-term collectible value and reliable market appreciation potential.
