No published example appears to exist of this color and kind, bearing elegant, minutely rendered calligraphy. Faceted bottles in this period reflect European influence, however adapted by the Chinese to showcase both the form and the content, in this case, the inscription carried on both faces. Compare this in shape to the J&J Collection bottle illustrated by Hugh Moss, Victor Graham and Ka Bo Tsang, The Art of the Chinese Snuff Bottle, The J & J Collection, Hong Kong, 1993, pp. 312-313, no. 185. Most known transparent bottles of facetted form are either red glass or occasionally blue in color.
