Many of these bottles bear the Guyue Xuan mark and are discussed by Hugh Moss in his June 1978 article in The Journal of the International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society, vol. X, no. 2, p. 14.See a closely related Imperial clear glass snuff bottle, unmarked, attributed to the Palace Workshops and dated 1768–1775, ex. Hugh Moss Collection, sold in our New York rooms, 22 March 2011, lot 80. Compare an Imperial enameled glass 'prunus, bamboo and rose' snuff bottle, Guyue Xuan mark, decorated with prunus bamboo and a butterfly, attributed to the Palace Workshops and the Qianlong period, sold at Sotheby's New York, 19 March 2008, lot 304.
