A Gilt Decorated Mirror Black Glazed Porcelain Baluster Jar kangxi period (1662-1722) having broad shoulders above a slightly splayed foot, the body painted in gilt with two large panels each enclosing a flower-filled basket, alternating shaped reserves showing bogu motif and floral sprigs, surrounded by floral scrolls, all between large ruyi heads filled with flowerheads and shou characters to the shoulder and leaf motif to the foot, having a hongmu cover elaborately carved with ruyi heads, surmounted by a lotus bud-form finial.
