Photo of the handsome young Reuben Clark, who died Dec 17th, 1891, in Rumford (now Concord) New Hampshire, after losing both legs to a slip on icy rails that pulled him under the wheels of a car. Includes an original newspaper clipping that goes into morbid detail, says it is the worst accident since the building of the line in 1871, compares to two other deaths. Clark is wearing a bandana in the photo, his fraternal fobs proudly displayed on his watch chain. Good condition, spot on right edge.
