Letters written to Miss Maria Becker of Bethlehem, NY, mostly from a cousin teaching at Troy Conference Academy of West Poultney, VT; PLUS a single letter from Lieut. John G. Vanderzee of the 25th NYSV, Porter's Division, out of NYC, dated April 7, 1862, written on the battlefield at Yorktown, quite descriptive of the battle the day before, professing his love. Vanderzee was KIA May 9.
