The pair of vases are decorated with two ladies in a fenced garden amongst rocks and plantain, the bases marked with artemisia leaves. The covers are decorated with precious objects surmounted by a Buddhist lion cub finial. The vase, guanyinzun, is decorated with figures in a fenced garden, and is marked with an artemisia leaf within a double circle to the base.
Condition: The covers: are possibly associated and are both restored.
One jar: there is glaze pull around almost the entire circumference where the foot meets the body; chips to the foot.
The other jar: there is a very thin bruise to the foot (approx. 2 cm. long)
The vase: there is a polished chip to the rim and a chip with a hairline crack (approx. 0.6 cm.); there is a shallow chip to the foot.
