The dish is finely decorated to the center with a roundel enclosing a writhing iron-red dragon on an underglaze blue ground of cresting waves. The exterior is decorated with nine further iron-red dragons in various positions on a similar ground below a band of demi-flower heads.

Compare a similar dish of the same date and similar size sold from the Alfred E. Guntermann (1943-2013) Collection at Christie's New York, 18-19 September 2014, lot 874, and a further two sold as one lot at Bonhams New York, 19 March 2018, lot 8081.
Condition: The dish appears to be in overall good condition apart from a very shallow chip to the rim (approx. 1.2 cm.) and a minor flaw to the foot.
