The group comprises: a bowl decorated with two ladies and a boy, the cover with a scene from the Romance of the Western Chamber (Xixiang ji), and a further bowl with a scholar and lady playing the qin, all three decorated with a boy to the interior, and marked with the with the biding ruyi (brush, ingot, ruyi) mark; a ?foreigners tribute? bowl, the interior decorated with a dragon roundel, the base with a stylised mark; and a foliate basin decorated with the Eight Immortals and highlights in underglaze copper red.
The bowl and cover: 17.5 cm. diam x 13.2 cm. high (overall)
The bowl with the scholar and lady: 9.2 cm. high x 20 cm. diam.
The ?foreigners tribute? bowl: 9.5 cm. high x 21.2 cm. diam.
The foliate basin: 8.2 cm. high x 26 cm. wide
Condition: The bowl with the scholar and lady: there is a triangular-shaped section to the rim restuck (approx. 4.5 cm. wide) and some restored chips to the rim.
The ?foreigners tribute? bowl: there are three hairlines to the rim (the longest 8.5 cm. long).
The foliate basin: some restored chips to the rim (max. approx. 3 cm. wide); glaze crackles.
All: with chips consistent with age and use.
